A new drive-in cinema is on the way to Dundalk.
Dundalk Drive-In Cinema is a first of its kind for the area and will be located at Dundalk Retail Park on the Inner Relief Road.
The new venture is believed to be the brainchild of the Fee family, who run the likes of Fagan’s pub on the Castletown Road and a number of convenience stores, including those at Maxol on the Castletown Road and at the Greenacres Shopping Centre.
The cinema already has a Facebook page setup and according to it they plan to show new releases and old time favourites “all at a reasonable price.”
The concept of the drive-in cinema would see film fans drive into a space and watch films from their cars – a concept that has proven a huge hit in America.
Two new cinemas have already been given the go ahead for the town earlier this year – at the former Harvey Norman store at the Retail Park and at the Marshes Shopping Centre.
No date is given for the launch of the new drive-in cinema, with just a ‘coming soon’ sign on its Facebook page, which was launched just last Thursday.
